FAQ:

Why do we send students?

Our hope is for students to develop community and make lifelong friends, grow in their faith by engaging with different cultures, and make a global impact wherever they go.

What is our goal/vision for the trip?

The vision for this trip is to enable our students to see how God is working among the nations. Specifically, students will participate in this by working on service projects and clinics and partnering with a local pastor to raise new churches in villages that have none.

Is this safe?

Yes, while there is always an assumed risk of going and doing, we work closely with our partners who live on the ground to make the trip as safe as possible. We also watch and obey domestic and foreign travel regulations and will not send anyone if Doxology deems it unsafe. Medical professionals will also be available in the case that they are needed.

How do I pay for this trip?

Students are taught to support raise for their trip by Doxology Staff. While personal payment for the trip is acceptable, we encourage students to seek supporters who will be praying for them and contributing financially.

What happens if there’s an emergency?

We get everyone home ASAP. All of our international trips are covered through insurance, including emergency evacuation and hospital visits in case something were to happen. You will be notified if something happens to your child as soon as possible. A good rule of thumb is “no news is good news” if you are worried about someone's safety.

What if the trip is canceled/my student can’t go?

If for some reason a trip is canceled by Doxology after support raising has begun, we will ask your student to fill out a scholarship application for a future trip. If your student voluntarily exits the trip, we ask that you cover the expenses that have been made on your behalf.

Where will my student be staying on the trip?

The local pastor provides students with housing for the entirety of the trip. The area is gated and always under supervision. Men and women are lodged separately. Students travel with designated drivers for any and all transportation needs as well.
