At South Hills Elementary, Marisol Martin spends her days helping students discover something bigger than how to read. Many of the kids she works with come in believing, I’m not good enough or I just can’t do it. As a reading interventionist, Marisol gets to meet them in those moments with patience, encouragement, and a different message: You can do this. Alongside mentors and volunteers from Doxology who faithfully show up, she is helping create a place where students know they are seen, cared for, and capable.

From the beginning, Kingdom Come has been about asking what it looks like for the goodness and grace of Jesus to increasingly rule and reign in every area of our hearts. When Jesus changes what is happening within us, that transformation begins to overflow into the lives of the people around us. At South Hills, that looks like everyday missionaries building relationships, serving students and teachers, and bringing who God has made them to be into a place already right in front of them.

That’s what it means to saturate a city. It isn’t simply about doing more, it’s about becoming people whose lives show and tell who Jesus is wherever we’re sent. Sometimes that looks like sitting beside a student who believes they can’t and staying long enough to help them discover that they can. Through simple, faithful presence, the goodness and grace of Jesus continues to move from every heart and every home into our city.
