Developing Christ-Centered People Who Make a Difference.
Connect With Christ: Trusting Jesus for both eternal life and the Christian life.
Transform In Community: God hasn't created us to stay where we are, or go by ourselves.
Engage Your World: Leaning into the places we're placed. From our front yard, to the ends of the earth.
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative revelation from God to men and that it is completely without error, uniquely inspired through the direction of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures, therefore, are the only reliable guideposts in matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the Trinity — Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All three are equally God, are of one substance, and are without beginning or end.
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and virgin-born to Mary. He died on the cross as our substitute, taking upon Himself the penalty for our sin. He was buried and was physically resurrected to prove the completeness of His work, providing our victory over sin and death.
We believe that man was created to enjoy a close, intimate relation to God, but that he sinned, and thereby fell under God's judgment — physically in death, spiritually in alienation from God. All mankind has inherited this state and a sinful nature, which renders him totally unable on his own merit to gain salvation, or to regain his former position of fellowship with God. God's remedy for man's ruin is thus entirely of grace through one's personal trust in what Christ completed for him on the cross.
We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ prior to the establishment of His kingdom on the earth. Those who are believers shall be forever in the presence of God, and those who have rejected Christ will be separated from God forever.
Our DNA is a set of values that make Doxology who we are. These values lie at the heart of our church and create our identity as a people and an organization. These are values that have always been with us and will never change.
We love celebrating and partnering where God is at work all over our city and all over the world.
CHURCH AS A FAMILY
We love to see different generations worshiping side-by-side. That means all of us make sacrifices, but that’s what family does.
BIBLICAL TEACHING THAT IS PORTABLE
We love to unpack the Bible in a way that is clear so we can understand it, apply it, and take it with us wherever we go.
NO PERFECT PEOPLE ALLOWED
We love being a family where it’s safe to share the real truth about ourselves and pursue Jesus together.
MINISTRY IS A TEAM SPORT
We love to develop and challenge each other (not just one or two professionals) to be involved in what God is doing wherever we are.
THE FRONT YARD MATTERS
We take “Love Your Neighbor” literally. We don’t believe it’s an accident that we live where we do, and we try to love like it.
On February 6th, 1954 a group of people gathered together with a dream of starting a different kind of church in Southwest Fort Worth. Rather than a place where Christ-followers landed for ministry one day a week, they dreamed of a church where Christ-followers launched for ministry every day of the week.
The church was originally named “McKinney Memorial Church” in honor of Dr. Samuel McKinney, a Bible Teacher in Fort Worth who had a passion for teaching the Bible in a winsome way, and for what God was doing all over the world. He was seen as a prototype of the kind of person McKinney Memorial Church was hoping to develop and launch. He broke ground on the church’s first building on his 91st birthday.
On October 28th, 2018, McKinney Memorial Church became Doxology Bible Church. The change allowed us to eliminate confusion caused by a fast-growing city called “McKinney” north of Dallas, while continuing to reflect the same goal we’ve shared since 1954: to display and declare who God is and what He’s like from this city to the world. Doxology is a multi-congregational church with congregations that, on the outside, look like autonomous churches (live preaching, worship, ministries contextualized to their surroundings and cultures) but who get to be apart of a larger shared vision and collaborative resourcing and support from the church as a whole. Our first congregation remains in Southwest Fort Worth just North of I20 off Hulen. In 2015 we opened the doors at Doxology Español, with Pastor Jose Luis Camacho. This congregation meets at our Southwest location every Sunday. On September 11, 2022 we launched our newest congregation up in the North Fort Worth area of Alliance with Pastor Bryan Smith.
