Through our partnership with South Hills Elementary, Doxology has seen God work powerfully, transforming kids’ lives and strengthening the life of the school through mentoring relationships.
With just one hour a week, you can make an eternal impact. As a Hero2Hero reading mentor, you’ll help a student grow in confidence, build stronger reading skills, and experience the love of Jesus through your care and consistency.
The need is great. The difference is real. Will you be a hero in a child’s story?
FAQ:
Is it necessary to have a teaching background?
No! You need a big heart and a little time each week.
I speak Spanish, would that be helpful?
Yes! There are students who would be happy to have a mentor who speaks their language.
I am retired, am I too old?
No! Your wisdom and patience will be so helpful.
What if I am unable to mentor a week or two throughout the school year?
That is not a problem. You will need to communicate with the teacher via email or text to let them know.

Pray:Doxology will return on Jan 7th. Pray:Doxology is a Mid-Week/Mid-Day prayer opportunity for our congregation in 2026. The heart behind Pray:Doxology is to provide an environment that is devoted to prayer, while being a good environment for a person to develop in prayer, as we contend for spiritual movement in our own hearts, awakening in our city, and revival in our world.
